    Performance Management & Coaching

The Great Resignation is upon us! Performance management and coaching is one way that HR is able to help influence the employees satisfaction to keep our employees. In a study completed by Gartner HR Practice in 2019, “Our research shows that employees who report to managers who coach effectively are 40% more engaged, exhibit 38% more discretionary effort and are 20% more likely to stay at their organizations than those who report to ineffective coaches.” Successful coaching programs are about feeding the employee, managers, and organization forward.

For the Human Resources Department, performance management is an important system for onboarding, developing and retraining employees, as well as reviewing their performance. However, do you know the difference between performance coaching and performance management? This program will help identify the difference between management vs. effective coaching. It will help give you tips and ideas to incorporate in your performance system to make it more effective for everyone involved.

Finally, one of the most challenging aspects of the performance review process is overcoming biases. HR plays a crucial role in helping understand our own biases and those within the organization as well.

    Key Learning Objectives:

    1. Giving feedback - the do’s and don’ts of effective communication

    2. Coaching strategies - giving questions center stage

    3. Remembering our biases and keeping them out of the way
