Violence in the Workplace

This session will provide you with practical information for recognizing and addressing threats, domestic violence, bullying, suicide, and the behaviors that generally precede violence in the workplace.

Chelsea Fryman is a motivating Human Resources Professional with a strong leadership background who is also a strategic business partner. She is passionate about development, coaching, mentoring, engagement, performance management, employee relations, training & facilitating and many other generalist areas in HR.

She currently works at Employers Council as a Human Resources Consultant working with public, private, federal, and non-profit organizations. Prior to that she held various human resources (HR Generalist, HRBP, Training Manager and Employee Relations) and leadership positions at Grainger Industrial Supply and in the hospitality industry.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix. Chelsea also holds the SHRM-CP certification and is working towards the SHRM-SCP next. Since February 2017, she has served as the Government Affairs and Legislative Director for the Colorado Springs SHRM Chapter.

Renée Smit joined the Employers Council in 2014 as a human resource services consultant.  She has over 17 years of HR experience in the public sector, which included an emphasis on strategic planning, policy development, leadership coaching, staff development, and employee relations and human resource management.  Renée graduated summa cum laude from Colorado State University with a double major in Sociology and Social Science and holds SPHR and SCP certifications.  Her current graduate work focuses on organizational learning, performance, and change.
